He at least told it like it is yesterday: http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2004/12/25/martin-christmas-041225.html
Too many Canadians I know are not proud anymore. They quiver in fear of the big Americans and how their economy is a damocles sword above ours. Not realizing how untrue that is.
So, I reiterate the message. Canadians, be proud of your country, be proud of your CBC, and be proud of yourself. You live in one of the freest, safest, and best countries in the world. Be proud of that.
Just a quick note,

So, my first homebrew finished almost over a month ago, and everyone loves it. Yet, there was a small problem. I apparently didn’t add enough sugar, and the alcohol content was more or less nonexistent (<.5%) or so I thought…
I did another batch today, and took my hydrometer reading of it, and I discovered that the way I previously measured my hydrometer was completely and totally wrong. My original batch had actually closer to 2% per unit volume alcohol, not the .5% I originally thought. This is because I was completely wrong in how I calculated the hydrometer readings, and how I read the hydrometer.
My next batch should be really good (assuming it works out), it has a potential alcohol percentage of 6%, and it smells really really good. So, if the yeast takes hold (it’s old yeast unfortunately), I should have a really nice porter coming soon.
Fingers crossed!

So, I’m game mastering a Spycraft game. Pretty excited about it actually. I have an entire wiki set up for it, and it should be pretty wild if I can get it moving nicely. http://spycraft.1337hax0r.com . Right now, I have 2 solid players, and about 5 more who are planning on getting on board next term, so I think this will turn out to be a pretty good game.
As well, it gives me a good opportunity to test the new mysql-based user system.
In a weird twisted way, I’d love to get "handlers" across the country using this wiki as a gathering point, and then we can just wire everything together and have really cool coordination between different GMs, and players. If anyone is interested, feel free to msg me via the "msg the sysop" button to the left, and I’ll get you all set up. I’m LARPing a little bit as well with the game, so it should be pretty awesome.

So, I got to see a 12-qubit Quantum Computer in action today in my quantum information processing class. I have to tell you, it was one of the coolest things I have ever seen (well it was filled with liquid nitrogen and helium). But, puns aside, it was actually really neat. In short, Waterloo has a nuclear magnetic resonance style quantum computer that can current handle 12-qubits (with a very specific chemical solution they have.) They also have a smaller model, which is just as interesting, but I have to say this was one of the most exciting things I have seen in Waterloo in a long time. It is almost like looking at the future.
I hope I get to see it again, and maybe even get a chance to help out a bit.
You know, perhaps Waterloo does have some positive factors to it after all.
